Stuff I have worked on, without being too specific…

Hi,
Over the last decades, I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of cool things.

EEG, electroencephalography. Working with neuro-scientists to study human factors.

EMG, electromyography. Reading muscle signals, even trying to influence muscle signals.

Heart, respiration measurements.

Head tracking, eye tracking, motion capture.

Projection, projection mapping, laser projection.

DMX, Show control.

Unique user interfaces. Gloves, joint motion sensing.

Optics, a lot of optics. Polarization cameras, ultraviolet cameras, visible cameras, SWIR, MWIR, LWIR cameras. Night vision devices. I can talk about that because it is patented.)

Fiber optics, fiber optic tapers, fiber optic bonding.

Popping lids of image sensors, scrubbing off Bayer arrays and putting lids back on.

Time of flight cameras, structured light imaging.

Hyper-spectral, multi spectral imagers.

Stereo vision systems, panoramic imaging systems, slit scan imaging.

Micro optical assemblies. Multi gigapixel cameras

multi-megapixel video systems.

MEMS projector engines.

Peppers ghost and other illusions.

I have done holography for 40 years, built HOEs.

Casting epoxies and silicones.

STL, FDM and SLS 3D printing, laser cutters, waterjet cutters, wire EDM machines.

Robotics, telepresence, teleconferencing.

Automotive interfaces, farm equipment.

Gaming equipment.

Motion picture lenses, and cameras. I have designed many practical effects.

Motion control systems. I have designed motion control lenses and unique velocity-based motion control systems.

Special effects, model building.

Video game design. Table top RPG design.

Radio control quad copters. Built them from scratch before they were ubiquitous.

I have written for several magazines, I was a columnist in an electronics hobby magazine for 2 years.

I have been an avid RC helicopter pilot for over 30 years.

Photography, UV, infrared, ultraviolet, polarization.

I owned my own business converting point and shoot cameras to infrared.

I built a persistence of vision rig in High school with a synchronous motor and an ARP2600 synthesizer.

Produced a lot of neat stuff for robotics hobbyists in the late 90’s and early 2000’s Like inverse kinematics driven hexapods, robot arms, centipedes.
Built cool sensors like using optical mice as low resolution image sensors.

Rapid prototype events for SOCOM.
